I’ve waited awhile to do an FAQ post so that I could obviously get a good idea of which questions qualify as “frequent”!  I’ll continuously update this post when needed, and it will always be linked at the top of the page.

❝ Why don’t you answer my questions? ❞

I answer all messages via ask box, instead of publishing them here. If I don’t respond to you it’s most likely because you don’t have your ask option enabled!

❝ Do you do nails professionally? ❞

I do NOT do nail art professionally (I’m actually a pastry chef), but this question never ceases to flatter me!  I do this strictly as a hobby and often on a (very) tight budget, so you won’t see me using any Chanel polishes here!  I wanted to start a blog that was not only a collection of Gaga’s looks done as nail art, but also one that made nail art seem more “realistic” and do-able—especially to young Gaga fans!  All of my looks can be achieved in a trip to the local drugstore and craft store.  No online special-ordering or breaking the bank here!
❝ How are you able to shape your nails? ❞
❝ How do you keep your cuticles so clean? ❞

All of the designs you see here are done on fake nails.  I use the glue-on kind you can pick up at any drugstore (specifically, the Kiss brand French tips in ‘Medium’ length).  The most important reason for this is because I am a pastry chef, so wearing nail polish and long nails while I’m working would be a ~sanitation violation~.  Wearing these kind of fakes pretty much allows me to take them off or put them on whenever I need to.  I can also shape them however I like and create certain designs easier than others (while my cuticles stay clean!)

❝ How do you attach the rhinestones and half-pearls? ❞

I use the same nail glue that comes with the glue-ons I wear, which is essentially glorified super glue.

❝ Where do you buy the rhinestones and half-pearls? ❞

I get mine at Micheal’s and other craft stores, but I highly recommend buying nail rhinestones on eBay.  You can usually find a set of 1000+ pieces for just a couple bucks and free shipping.  That’s much cheaper than most nail gems sold in stores.

❝ Why don’t you do video tutorials? ❞

I’m not at all familiar with taking video or editing it.  I also don’t have a proper camera or a webcam that I could use to do this (I currently use a camera phone to photograph my nails), but if you’re ever curious about a certain design, feel free to ask!
