I’m back with another back-logged nail design, but first—Did everyone love Gaga’s VMA performance as much as I did?!  She definitely doesn’t always make it easy on those of us monsters with nail art blogs.  ;)  Stay tuned to see if I can pull of Jo-themed nails for next year’s VMA’s!
The Edge Of Glory Video:
This was by far one of Gaga’s most…ahem, controversial music videos ever.  A different treatment was originally planned, but due to conflicts on set it was scrapped at the last minute and the existing video was shot instead.  This one might not be a favorite among fans, but it works for a great nail design!  Gaga has explained that the significance of this video were the red and blue lights which she dances between; representing heaven/good/the positive and hell/evil/the negative.
Colors used are Black with Set The Stage (gold glitter topcoat) by Sally Hansen, Bubblegum Pink by Sally Hansen, and Blue Me Away! by Sally Hansen (I used pink in place of red, so it appears more like the coloring in the video).  I pierced the nail tips with gold jump rings (found in the jewelry section of any craft store) to mimic the rings on Gaga’s gloves and Versace outfit.
Like I’ve said before, I like to do nail art on a budget (I usually avoid the $10+ polishes), that can be easily replicated, and doesn’t necessarily scream “LADY GAGA” (except maybe to a fellow fan, of course).  This look was done completely with colors from the Xtreme Wear line by Sally (under $2, sold everywhere, and wears better than some of the top dollar polishes out there), and works as a great “edgy” (pun shamefully intended) look that doesn’t break the bank.
